India Post Office GDS Recruitment 2023 Eligibility
- All approved categories of GDS must have a secondary school pass certificate from the 10th standard examination administered by any recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India, State Governments, or Union Territories in India, with passing grades in Mathematics and English (either studied as compulsory or elective subjects).
- The applicant must have studied the local language, i.e. (Name of Local Language), as either a required or elective subject at least through the secondary level.
- Additional Qualifications : Knowledge of computers, cycling, and adequate means of subsistence.
Process for India Post Office GDS Selection
- According to a system-generated merit list, the candidates will be shortlisted for engagement.
- The Secondary School Examination of the Tenth Standard of Approved Boards shall serve as the basis for preparing the Merit List. Marks obtained/conversion of Grades/Points to Marks in this examination will be aggregated to percentage with a four-decimal precision.
- It is necessary to pass every subject in accordance with the corresponding, recognized board standards.

- For the Registration Number, the Applicant must first register on the GDS online Engagement Portal at the address www.indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.
- The applicants must have a working mobile number and personal email address in order to register on the portal.
- Only the registered mobile number will receive critical communications, such as the announcement of the shortlisting results, the invitation to a provisional engagement, etc.
- The applicants must pay a fee of Rs. 100/- (Rupees just one hundred) for each of the vacancies listed in their choice of Division. All female candidates, SC/ST applicants, PwD applicants, and Transwomen applicants, however, are not required to pay any fees.
- A candidate may only submit one or more applications for GDS positions that are open in one of the chosen divisions.

Job Profile for Post Office GDS Recruitment 2023
Branch Postmaster (BPM)
- Postal services provided by Branch Post Offices and India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) on a daily basis in accordance with the methods outlined from time to time by the Department.
- Marketing and advertising for the department’s goods and services, as well as running different services out of the department’s Customer Services Centres (CSC), are all examples of this.
- In single-handed BOs, BPMs are in charge of overseeing all aspects of the Branch Post Office’s timely and efficient operation, including mail delivery and postal carriage.
